To much of the world, the United States is still a relatively young country. Barely over two hundred in political age, this country is much younger in terms of having a coherent, overall culture that can be defined and recognized by outsiders. This is partly because of the melting pot nature of the country — with so many immigrants bringing traditions from elsewhere, figuring out what is distinctly American took time.

The twentieth century was a watershed in defining Americana . A huge factor in that is the American love affair with the automobile. The wide open spaces and sprawling metropolises that characterize the US were instrumental in making the automobile so important. They were also formed, in part, by the widespread adoption of cars. More than any other nation, Americans bought cars — outfitting them for families, businesses, farmers, and general use. They even adapted them for sport, using american racing wheels to turn a regular car into a street racer.

Everything associated with the automobile has also become a part of Americana by default. American highways, truck stops, and unique road side attractions are easily distinguishable from those in other countries. Likewise the huge variety of vehicle brands available not to mention that there are dozens of brands of accessories and tires (choose from goodyear, michelin, firestone, or nitto tires ). Movies about cars, songs about cars, and entire magazines and websites devoted to nothing else.

When you think of the United States of American you think of the old Red, White and Blue. That is, if you’re thinking about the national flag. And of course the Stars and Stripes of the American Flag are the nation’s pride and it is what we see hanging over the athletes during the awards presentations at the Olympics. However, there are actually a number of different flags that represent various aspects of the country’s military forces. And each of these is important to the organization it serves.

All of the armed forces have their own flags. military flags are specific to the force they’re representing and the individual army, navy, air force and marine flags demonstrate this. The army’s flag is white with the official seal of the Office of War in the center. Directly below the seal it reads, United States Army and has the date 1775, which is when the first army unit was developed. The navy’s flag is its signature blue and has a yellow scroll reading United States Navy. In the center of the flag is the seal of the Department of the Navy. The Air Force displays the coat of arms, the Air Force Seal and 13 stars. The Flag of the United States Marine Corp is scarlet with a white scroll that reads United States Marine Corp. It features the Corps emblem in the middle. These are the flags of the four branches of the US military, though there are numerous other flags for various military groups, special units and operations within each branch.

As the Internet and technology continue to advance certain features and aspects of our lives, it makes absolute sense that they are affecting the health care system and the way in which we research services and prescription medication. With all of the hassle and confusion that can be associated with the process of getting a prescription and having it filled, it is a great relief to know that this has been adapted to the Internet and it is now possible to have prescriptions sent and filled electronically.

This initiates the standard and somewhat obvious next question, which is how to start e-prescribing . And the answer is more good news, beginning this process is actually quite simple and easy to understand. As a patient you simply need to consult with your prescribing doctor or nurse practitioner and make sure they have the appropriate software and access structure. You will also want to ensure that all of your information is correct and up to date. At this point the process is in the hands of the prescriber and the receiving pharmacy who will fill the prescription. You will pick it up at the pharmacy like any other. This new development in electronic services is expected to save a lot of time and energy and will remove the responsibility of the patient to deliver the prescription and wait for it to be filled.
